1975 Ford Maverick — REDUCED ASKING PRICE
NOT a Mustang, Torrino, Falcon, or Fairlaine, Something a bit different and less common than most of those 70’s Fords.
2 door coupe, Red with Tan interior, factory bucket seats, 250 inline Six and 3 speed manual, power steering, front disc brakes (new calipers and pads just installed). Very clean, straight, 95% original,in good to near excellent condition for it’s age. Relatively low mileage at 136,000 (+-) No signs of ever having been in a serious accident or having any major body work, the frame is straight and unmolested. The car has not been modified, cut up, or disfigured. It looks and drives nice, and has been very reliable. ( I used for a daily drive for a while about 2 years ago) Very solid for it’s age and has huge potential to be what you want OR… just drive and enjoy it as is. I always get a lot of thumbs up and comments when ever I drive it.
OK.. it’s not in perfect shape, here is what it might need “soon”: Power steering cylinder ( works but leaks) Small tear in the front drivers seat – repairable ( since replacement original covers are hard to find – a professional repair would be best – cost about $150.) Front tires, (rears are nearly new all season M&S)
This Maverick would be a excellent candidate to be a full factory-showroom original car, and it would not take much; maybe 5-600 hundred dollars and a couple of weekends at most, or swap in a 302/C4 or maybe a 5.0 Coyote V8 with a 5 speed and have a sweet Hot Rod or Cruiser. Plus there is a ton of trick stuff for the original six, ( search Fordsix.com or Classic Inlines) multi-carbs, cross flow heads etc. that make it pump-out 300+ indestructible horse power.
I have the MARTI report (details on the cars original build specs from Ford Motor Company) as well as documentation including a fuel and repair log notebook from the original owner who bought the car at a Los Angels area Ford dealer. The repair and gas log covers most of the vehicle’s life, including road trips etc and could be a great item to support the cars history for a full restoration.
The most non original items are the shift has been converted from the steering column to a floor shift, and it came from the factory with a half vinyl roof. It even has the original AM radio and it works fine. I have some misc parts including the original wheel covers and a Ford FM radio that will go with the car.
I can provide additional pictures, please request if there is something you want a photo of and I will send them via email.
SERIOUS inquires only please! No offers for shipping the car, I will not accept money orders from Botswana or Zimbabwe etc. I need no help in selling. (In other words no typical CL mashuga please!)
This will be a face to face CASH deal only! I have the clear Colorado title in my name. The car will be sold “as-is”
I have lowered my original asking price from $4600. Even though in getting ready to show the car I discovered a leaking front brake caliper, so replaced both front calipers and pads. I am still in no hurry or need to sell and am firm on my asking price, however come take a look and with cash in hand once this add has been up for a while I may consider a reasonably close offer. Other wise I will drive and enjoy the car in the beautiful Colorado fall weather, winterize her and try again in the spring. Could make an easy over winter project to fully restore on do the V8 swap. ( I have noted some nicely done Hot Rod Cruisers going for well over $10K)
